Ruth Bader Ginsburg
March 15, 1933 - September 18, 2020. Joan Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an American lawyer, jurist and Supreme Court Justice, one of only four women to ever hold the latter position. Ginsburg was the second female Supreme Court Justice and the first Jewish female justice. She was given the moniker “Notorious RBG” for her strongly worded dissents, her defense of gender equality and her refusal to give ground.
